Beach House Transformation: Modernizing a Classic

Until recently, this beach house was a modest one-story structure built in the 60s. The owners, with construction experience, sought to salvage as much as possible. ZINN designed an intervention that allowed them to build onto, around, and above the original home, surgically removing portions while tactically grafting others. The interior flow was also improved, with the kitchen now centrally located and enjoying commanding views of both the pool and living spaces. This renovation transformed the once-modest structure into a modern and functional beachside retreat. This project showcases ZINN's ability to work within existing constraints and creatively adapt structures to meet the evolving needs of their occupants. The design seamlessly blends old and new, creating a harmonious and functional living space that honors the home's history while embracing contemporary design principles.
